DJ Software Programs: Best DJ Solutions with Pro Quality

DJ software may be your answer if you don't have the money to spend on DJ equipment but you do own a fancy computer.

You can become a DJ in the digital world with a little time and a little creativity. Creating DJ music on your pc can be fun.

""

Software for DJs is abundant. There are so many to choose from it's hard to tell who's who and each one has a specific purpose. Depending on your application, you can DJ using a laptop with Final Scratch, or create remixes with Cakewalk or master with Sound Forge.

DJ software that is in-expensive could be your answer for recording and mastering that final mix. Read this short article on home recording software tips. It will show you what you need to record and how to choose the right software.

DJ software is not difficult to learn. I find that experimenting works best initially that way you get to learn where everything is and how it works.

After you get to understand how it works you should join a message board where other users post helpful information and documents to help you be more productive.

Fruity Loops is another DJ software program that is in high demand. I work at a local university in the media department and I was talking to a student that makes music with Fruity Loops.

Propellerhead ReBirth

He was telling me that the best thing about Fruity Loops is its ability to emulate so many of those famous sounds you hear from old school 70's artists to today's artists.

I asked him how he does it and he told me that he has the XXL package that includes all of the plug-ins.

If you're like me having the ability to create any sound you want for DJ music is a must.

Sony Media Sound Forge 8.0

I mentioned Sound Forge by Sonic Foundry. For the price this DJ software is one of the best solutions on the market for editing music and mastering your final mix.

Read my tutorial on Sound Forge here.

Sound Forge offers its users the ability to easily create and edit music with a few simple clicks of the mouse. I have been using Sound Forge for a few years now and I have no complaints. It has a wide range of effects and processors and the help section has come in handy as well. It's a very user friendly product.

Another famous product from Sonic Foundry is Acid Pro. Sonic Foundry has a host of products including royalty free loops and samples as well.

Final Scratch is very powerful. It's a program that lets the end users play songs from their mp3 play list and mix them with vinyl live. So you can have a gig at the club with your turntables and your laptop and create some very powerful mixes.

You're not limited to your record collection anymore. Josh Wink, co-owner of Ovum Records and a DJ out of Philadelphia, PA, uses Final Scratch.

Here's what he had to say about it.

The Traktor mp3 DJ software program is another great product for up and coming DJs. It's not as good as Final Scratch but it is acceptable and fun to use.

The final DJ software comes from Cakewalk . When Cakewalk first introduced its mix program in the 90's I got a copy because it was cheaper than buying DJ equipment.

Steinberg CubaseSX3 MAC/PC (Multi-Track Recording Software)

Back then it was a bit cumbersome and the quality was not that good. So I lost interest in the digital music. What a mistake! If I had of stayed with it who knows how successful I could have become. Ha! Ha!

Cakewalk offers a suite of DJ software programs to choose from. Such as dance music to home recording to remixing. They make a bunch of synth and samplers programs. They have come a long way. Other, more hefty and more expensive, DJ software programs along with Sound Forge are:

Thanks Scott for the headsup on the additional Software.

Most of these companies have a free download trial of their software. I suggest you download them and try them out for your self. Have fun!
